Morning Without Bending Kit - Socks, Shoes and Reach, Sorted

Why we like this

Most of the bending in a day happens before you've left the house. Socks, shoes, the thing that rolled under the bed. This kit takes those moments one at a time, with one tool for each.

It isn't tied to a surgery or a diagnosis, which is exactly why we like it. If you'd rather skip the bend, that's reason enough.

Who is this for?
This kit may suit you if:

- You'd rather put on socks and shoes, or pick things up, without bending down
- You'd like early starts and busy mornings to run a little smoother
- You're setting up a parent or family member to keep doing things their own way
- You're looking for a practical gift that gets used every day

This isn't a post-surgery kit. If you're preparing for a hip or knee replacement, see our Ready Kits and follow your surgical team's guidance.
Important safety information
These are everyday living aids and do not replace advice from your doctor, physiotherapist or occupational therapist.

Sock Aid and Shoe Horn: use them seated on a stable chair. If you've been given movement precautions after surgery, check with your health team before using any dressing aid.

Leg Lifter: not a weight-bearing device. Do not stand in the foot loop or use it to pull yourself up.

Grabber: for light household items only. Don't use it for anything heavy or hot, or to reach items stored above head height.

Stop using any item that becomes damaged. Keep out of reach of children.

The physio behind the store

I built this store because I was already recommending this equipment in sessions every day. As a mobile physio working in people's homes, I know what actually fits a real living room, a real bedroom, a real kitchen and what older adults will actually use.

Everything here has been in my kit bag, used with real clients, and chosen because it works in the home environment, not just in a clinic.

Physio pro tip

Setting it up so it gets used:

  • Sock Aid — sit on a firm chair with your feet flat, slide the sock on until the toe sits snug at the end, then lower it, slip your foot in and pull the cords evenly; it takes a few goes to get the knack
  • Shoe horn — loosen the laces or open the strap first, rest it against the back of your heel and slide in; hang it by the door you actually use
  • Grabber — keep it where things tend to land, beside the bed or the couch; it's made for light everyday items, not heavy ones
  • Leg lifter — slip the stirrup under your heel, not your toes, and guide the leg rather than hauling it; sit on the edge of the bed first, then bring one leg up at a time
  • First week — keep all four in the bedroom so they become part of the routine before you decide where each one lives

General use items, not prescribed aids. If your surgeon, physiotherapist or occupational therapist has recommended something specific, follow that first.

What makes us different

Everything on this store is something we actually use. It's in our kit bag. We bring it into real sessions with real clients, week after week. If it's here, it's because we've tried it, trusted it, and seen how people actually use it at home.

We're not trying to sell you everything. The range is curated for older adults building strength and independence at home, and simplicity is the whole point. You don't need a home gym. You don't need to be an expert.

As a mobile physio practice, we can only reach so many people in person. This store is how we share what works with everyone else.

Why it matters

Movement keeps you going

57%
of Australians aged 65+ didn't meet physical activity guidelines
AIHW analysis of ABS NHS, 2022
65+
As we get older, staying active keeps you independent and able to do everyday activities
NSW Health, Physical activity guidelines for older adults
30min
of moderate to vigorous activity on most days is what Australian guidelines recommend for 65+
Australian movement guidelines for older adults, 2026

The evidence is clear: it is never too late to start. A few minutes of movement most days is a good place to start. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or a complicated programme. You need simple equipment that works at home and a reason to pick it up.

The evidence

Three things regular movement may help maintain

  • Muscle Strength
We naturally lose muscle mass as we age. Resistance exercise is one of the most effective tools for slowing that process — at any age.
  • Balance & Stability
Balance is a skill, and it responds to regular practice.
  • Independence at Home
People over 65 benefit more from adequate fitness than any other age group — to maintain independence, recover from illness, and reduce disease risk.
