Everyday Independence & Comfort Kit - Choose Your Pillow

Why we like this

This kit isn't tied to a surgery or a stage of recovery. Everyone reaches for something occasionally, and everyone has a night where sleep position decides how the next day goes.

The pillow choice is what makes it work for more people. Four options, one price, no upgrade fee. You pick what suits how you actually sleep.
Full specifications

Who is this for?
This kit may suit you if:

- You find everyday movements like reaching, bending, or repositioning your legs more difficult than they used to be
- You're recovering from a procedure and want practical tools that aren't tied to one specific surgery
- You struggle to get comfortable at night and want the right pillow for how you sleep
- You're setting up for a family member coming home from hospital
- You want a considered, practical gift rather than a generic care package
Important safety information
These products are general assistive and comfort tools and do not replace professional health advice. If you have specific positioning or movement restrictions following surgery, always follow the advice of your surgeon or physiotherapist.

Leg Lifter: not a weight-bearing device. Do not use to pull yourself up or support body weight.

Grabber: check the grip mechanism periodically and do not use to lift objects beyond the stated weight capacity.

Pillows: discontinue use if you experience numbness, tingling, or discomfort — consult a health professional.

Keep all products out of reach of children.

The physio behind the store

I built this store because I was already recommending this equipment in sessions every day. As a mobile physio working in people's homes, I know what actually fits a real living room, a real bedroom, a real kitchen and what older adults will actually use.

Everything here has been in my kit bag, used with real clients, and chosen because it works in the home environment, not just in a clinic.

Physio pro tip

Getting the most from each piece:

  • Grabber first — keep it where bending down happens most; beside the bed, in the kitchen, near the laundry
  • Leg lifter — loop around the heel, not the toes, for a more secure and controlled lift
  • Choosing your pillow — side sleepers with hip or lower back discomfort tend to do well with the Bean or Bone Shaped; if you want something that stays put without thinking about it, the Orthopaedic has a strap; the Comfort Leg Pillow suits under-knee or ankle support rather than between the legs
  • Both tools work well together for anyone managing stiffness first thing in the morning
  • None of these require a diagnosis to use — if the day feels a little harder than it should, that's reason enough

Small tools, used consistently, make the biggest difference. Keep them where you'll actually reach for them.

What makes us different

Everything on this store is something we actually use. It's in our kit bag — we bring it into real sessions with real clients, week after week. If it's here, it's because we've tried it, trusted it, and watched it make a genuine difference.

We're not trying to sell you everything. The range is curated for older adults building strength and independence at home, and simplicity is the whole point. You don't need a home gym. You don't need to be an expert.

As a mobile physio practice, we can only reach so many people in person. This store is how we share what works with everyone else.

Why it matters

Movement keeps you going

57%
of Australians aged 65+ didn't meet physical activity guidelines
AIHW analysis of ABS NHS, 2022
65+
As we get older, staying active keeps you independent and able to do everyday activities
NSW Health, Physical activity guidelines for older adults
30min
of moderate to vigorous activity on most days is what Australian guidelines recommend for 65+
Australian movement guidelines for older adults, 2026

The evidence is clear: it is never too late to start. A few minutes of movement most days adds up to something real over time. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or a complicated programme. You need simple equipment that works at home and a reason to pick it up.

The evidence

Three things regular movement may help maintain

  • Muscle Strength
We naturally lose muscle mass as we age. Resistance exercise is one of the most effective tools for slowing that process — at any age.
  • Balance & Stability
Balance responds well to regular practice. Simple exercises done consistently can make a meaningful difference to how steady you feel day to day.
  • Independence at Home
People over 65 benefit more from adequate fitness than any other age group — to maintain independence, recover from illness, and reduce disease risk.
