Knee Replacement Ready Kit - Built for the First Weeks Home

Why we like this

The week after knee replacement isn't the time to be figuring out what you need. It's the time to already have it.

These four tools cover the practical gaps that show up early from moving the leg safely, gentle range of motion work, activation without overdoing it, and staying hydrated when everything feels like more effort than usual.

Who is this for?
This kit may suit you if:

- You have knee replacement surgery booked and want to prepare before you come home
- You're in the first few weeks of knee replacement recovery and need practical support tools
- Your surgeon or physiotherapist has recommended gentle circulation and activation exercises
- You want everything ready in one order rather than sourcing items separately before surgery

Always follow the specific rehabilitation protocol and timeline given by your surgical team. Individual recovery plans vary.
Important safety information
These products are general recovery support tools and do not replace professional health advice. Always follow the specific post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon and physiotherapist. Timing and appropriate use of each tool will depend on your individual recovery.

Leg Lifter: not a weight-bearing device. Do not use to pull yourself up or support body weight.

Mini Exercise Ball: only use for exercises cleared by your treating team. Stop if you experience sharp pain.

Mini Exercise Pedals: begin with very gentle movement only, and increase effort strictly in line with your surgeon or physiotherapist's guidance.

Keep out of reach of children.

The physio behind the store

I built this store because I was already recommending this equipment in sessions every day. As a mobile physio working in people's homes, I know what actually fits a real living room, a real bedroom, a real kitchen and what older adults will actually use.

Everything here has been in my kit bag, used with real clients, and chosen because it works in the home environment, not just in a clinic.

Physio pro tip

Getting ready before surgery:

  • Pack it with your hospital bag — don't wait until you're home to unpack the box
  • Leg lifter — loop around the heel, not the toes, for controlled and secure movement in and out of bed
  • Pedals — very gentle range of motion work only in the first days; follow your surgeon and physiotherapist's specific clearance before increasing effort
  • Exercise ball — used for gentle inner-range quad activation once your surgical team has cleared it
  • Keep the bottle within reach — hydration is easy to forget when you're focused on recovery

Always follow the specific rehabilitation protocol given by your surgeon and physiotherapist. This kit supports that plan — it doesn't replace it.

What makes us different

Everything on this store is something we actually use. It's in our kit bag — we bring it into real sessions with real clients, week after week. If it's here, it's because we've tried it, trusted it, and watched it make a genuine difference.

We're not trying to sell you everything. The range is curated for older adults building strength and independence at home, and simplicity is the whole point. You don't need a home gym. You don't need to be an expert.

As a mobile physio practice, we can only reach so many people in person. This store is how we share what works with everyone else.

Why it matters

Movement keeps you going

57%
of Australians aged 65+ didn't meet physical activity guidelines
AIHW analysis of ABS NHS, 2022
65+
As we get older, staying active keeps you independent and able to do everyday activities
NSW Health, Physical activity guidelines for older adults
30min
of moderate to vigorous activity on most days is what Australian guidelines recommend for 65+
Australian movement guidelines for older adults, 2026

The evidence is clear: it is never too late to start. A few minutes of movement most days adds up to something real over time. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or a complicated programme. You need simple equipment that works at home and a reason to pick it up.

The evidence

Three things regular movement may help maintain

  • Muscle Strength
We naturally lose muscle mass as we age. Resistance exercise is one of the most effective tools for slowing that process — at any age.
  • Balance & Stability
Balance responds well to regular practice. Simple exercises done consistently can make a meaningful difference to how steady you feel day to day.
  • Independence at Home
People over 65 benefit more from adequate fitness than any other age group — to maintain independence, recover from illness, and reduce disease risk.
