Description

Small ball. Surprisingly effective.

This is one of the most underrated tools in lower limb exercise and one we reach for regularly in sessions. Squeeze it between your knees, place it under your knee while lying down, use it for bridges. The exercises are gentle, controlled, and can be done from a chair or a bed.

Inflatable PVC, so you control the firmness. Softer for easier work, firmer for more resistance. Inflation tube included.

20–25cm diameter. Purple. No gym required.

Who is This For?

This may suit you if:

  • You want a simple tool for gentle lower limb strengthening at home
  • You're recovering from hip or knee surgery and have been cleared to start gentle exercise
  • You do most of your exercise from a chair or bed and need equipment that works in that position
  • A physiotherapist has recommended adductor squeezes, inner range quad work, or bridges as part of your home exercise programme
  • You want something compact that stores easily and doesn't require setup

Always check with your physiotherapist or health professional before starting any new exercise, particularly if recovering from surgery or managing a joint condition.

Materials & Measurements

Material: PVC (thickened, reinforced)

Important Safety Information

This exercise ball is a general exercise tool and does not replace professional health advice. Always consult a qualified health professional before starting a new exercise programme, particularly if you are recovering from surgery or managing a joint condition.

Do not over-inflate — stop when the ball reaches a firm but slightly giving resistance. Over-inflation can cause the ball to burst unexpectedly.

Do not use if the ball shows any signs of damage, cracking, or air loss. Discontinue use immediately if you experience sharp pain during any exercise.

Mini Exercise Ball - Squeeze, Activate, Strengthen

Why we like this

It's one of those tools that looks too simple to matter — until you try it. The squeeze between the knees activates muscles around the hip and inner thigh that often get ignored, and it's gentle enough to do from bed or a chair without any setup.

We use these in sessions and include them in our recovery kits for exactly that reason. Small, versatile, always within reach.

The physio behind the store

I built this store because I was already recommending this equipment in sessions every day. As a mobile physio working in people's homes, I know what actually fits a real living room, a real bedroom, a real kitchen and what older adults will actually use.

Everything here has been in my kit bag, used with real clients, and chosen because it works in the home environment, not just in a clinic.

Physio pro tip

Three exercises worth starting with:

  • Adductor squeeze — place the ball between your knees and gently squeeze; hold a few seconds then slowly release; works the inner thigh muscles important for hip and knee stability
  • Inner range quad — place the ball under one knee while lying on your back; gently straighten your leg by pushing down into the ball then slowly lower; targets the front of the thigh
  • Bridges with ball — lying on your back with knees bent; place the ball between your knees and squeeze as you lift your hips; slowly lower; works glutes and inner thighs together

Always check with your health professional before starting, particularly if you are recovering from surgery or managing a joint condition.

What makes us different

Everything on this store is something we actually use. It's in our kit bag — we bring it into real sessions with real clients, week after week. If it's here, it's because we've tried it, trusted it, and watched it make a genuine difference.

We're not trying to sell you everything. The range is curated for older adults building strength and independence at home, and simplicity is the whole point. You don't need a home gym. You don't need to be an expert.

As a mobile physio practice, we can only reach so many people in person. This store is how we share what works with everyone else.

Why it matters

Movement keeps you going

57%
of Australians aged 65+ didn't meet physical activity guidelines
AIHW analysis of ABS NHS, 2022
65+
As we get older, staying active keeps you independent and able to do everyday activities
NSW Health, Physical activity guidelines for older adults
30min
of moderate to vigorous activity on most days is what Australian guidelines recommend for 65+
Australian movement guidelines for older adults, 2026

The evidence is clear: it is never too late to start. A few minutes of movement most days adds up to something real over time. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or a complicated programme. You need simple equipment that works at home and a reason to pick it up.

The evidence

Three things regular movement may help maintain

  • Muscle Strength
We naturally lose muscle mass as we age. Resistance exercise is one of the most effective tools for slowing that process — at any age.
  • Balance & Stability
Balance responds well to regular practice. Simple exercises done consistently can make a meaningful difference to how steady you feel day to day.
  • Independence at Home
People over 65 benefit more from adequate fitness than any other age group — to maintain independence, recover from illness, and reduce disease risk.
