Description

Two metres of resistance. Works from a chair, a doorframe, or the floor.

Resistance bands are one of the first things we recommend to clients who want to start exercising at home. They're light, they don't take up space, and you can do a full upper body or lower body session without standing up from a chair which matters more than most people expect.

This is a long band, not a loop. That distinction is important. The extra length means you can anchor it under a foot, loop it around a table leg, or have someone hold one end while you work the other. It gives you options that short loop bands don't.

One band. Light resistance to start, more as you go. No setup, no weights, no gym.

Who is This For?

This may suit you if:

  • You want to build or maintain upper and lower body strength at home without weights or gym equipment
  • You're recovering from an injury or procedure and looking for gentle, low-impact exercise options
  • You find shorter loop bands restrictive and want more flexibility in how you anchor and use the band
  • A physiotherapist has recommended resistance band exercises as part of a home exercise program
  • You travel frequently and want exercise equipment that fits in a bag
  • You're an older adult who wants to stay strong and independent at home without a complicated setup

What people use it for:

  • Seated upper body strengthening — rows, bicep curls, shoulder presses, chest pulls
  • Lower body exercises — leg extensions, hip abduction, ankle strengthening
  • Stretching and mobility work — gentle assisted stretches, shoulder mobility
  • Balance and stability exercises when used with a chair or stable surface
  • Home exercise programs prescribed by a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist

Not sure if this suits your situation? Your treating physiotherapist is the best person to advise on which resistance level and exercises are appropriate for you.

Important Safety Information

This resistance band is intended for light to moderate exercise only. Do not use if the band has any nicks, tears, or signs of wear, inspect before each session.

Release the band slowly and with control. Never let it snap back suddenly, this can cause injury to hands, face, or joints.

Do not anchor the band around anything that could move or come loose unexpectedly. Always ensure your anchor point is stable before beginning an exercise.

If you have been given specific exercise restrictions following surgery or injury, follow the advice of your physiotherapist before using resistance bands. This product is a general exercise tool and does not replace individual clinical guidance.

Keep away from children and pets. Store away from sharp objects and direct heat or sunlight, which can degrade the latex.

Long Resistance Band - Strength Training at Home

Why we like this

The length is what makes this one useful. At two metres you can anchor it under a foot and still work both hands, something a short loop band can't do. Seated, standing, alone, or with a partner holding one end, it adapts.

We use these in sessions regularly. One band and a chair is genuinely enough to do a full workout. Nothing to set up, nothing to clear space for.

The physio behind the store

I built this store because I was already recommending this equipment in sessions every day. As a mobile physio working in people's homes, I know what actually fits a real living room, a real bedroom, a real kitchen and what older adults will actually use.

Everything here has been in my kit bag, used with real clients, and chosen because it works in the home environment, not just in a clinic.

Physio pro tip

Simple ways to get more out of it:

  • Anchor it under your foot for seated rows and shoulder exercises — loop the band under your heel, not your toes, for a more stable hold
  • The longer the band, the lighter the resistance — grip closer to the middle if you want it harder, further from centre to make it easier
  • Control the return — the slow release back is doing just as much work as the pull; don't let it snap back
  • Keep your elbows close on arm exercises — flaring out takes the load off the muscles you're trying to work
  • Start with three sets of ten — simple, achievable, and enough to build on week by week

Consistency is the whole game with resistance training. A five-minute session three times a week beats a thirty-minute session once.

What makes us different

Everything on this store is something we actually use. It's in our kit bag — we bring it into real sessions with real clients, week after week. If it's here, it's because we've tried it, trusted it, and watched it make a genuine difference.

We're not trying to sell you everything. The range is curated for older adults building strength and independence at home, and simplicity is the whole point. You don't need a home gym. You don't need to be an expert.

As a mobile physio practice, we can only reach so many people in person. This store is how we share what works with everyone else.

Why it matters

Movement keeps you going

57%
of Australians aged 65+ didn't meet physical activity guidelines
AIHW analysis of ABS NHS, 2022
65+
As we get older, staying active keeps you independent and able to do everyday activities
NSW Health, Physical activity guidelines for older adults
30min
of moderate to vigorous activity on most days is what Australian guidelines recommend for 65+
Australian movement guidelines for older adults, 2026

The evidence is clear: it is never too late to start. A few minutes of movement most days adds up to something real over time. You don't need a gym, a trainer, or a complicated programme. You need simple equipment that works at home and a reason to pick it up.

The evidence

Three things regular movement may help maintain

  • Muscle Strength
We naturally lose muscle mass as we age. Resistance exercise is one of the most effective tools for slowing that process — at any age.
  • Balance & Stability
Balance responds well to regular practice. Simple exercises done consistently can make a meaningful difference to how steady you feel day to day.
  • Independence at Home
People over 65 benefit more from adequate fitness than any other age group — to maintain independence, recover from illness, and reduce disease risk.
